Poll sheriff and captain training

The Union County Election Commission will hold training sessions for poll sheriffs and captains today at the county Election Headquarters, 114 E. Elm St., at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

EPZC to hold public hearing on T Ricks rezoning request

The El Dorado Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing today at noon at El Dorado City Hall. They will consider a rezoning request from JAMMIN Investments, LLC to rezone a portion of the property at 3300 Junction City Road to a neighborhood commercial zone. The public is invited to attend.

Tai Chi for Arthritis begins today

The UAMS Centers on Aging will hold Tai Chi for Arthritis, an exercise program that can enhance one’s balance, posture, strength, mental health, cognitive functioning and pain management, on Tuesdays and Thursday starting today, Oct. 13 and continuing through Dec. 17. The class will be held at Champagnolle Landing Wellness Center, at 910 Champagnolle Road.

Arkansas PBS to host debate with Congressional candidates

Arkansas PBS will host a debate with United States Congressional District 4 candidates Frank Gilbert (L), William Hansen (D) and incumbent Bruce Westerman (R) today. The debate will livestream at youtube.com/arkansaspbs at 10 a.m. and air on television at 7 p.m.
